We come from the fire and the long table. We are a Uruguayan family that cooks the way we do at home.
The Charrúa
The Charrúa were the Indigenous people of what is now Uruguay, between the Río de la Plata and the Uruguay River. They were nomadic, free and proud, and gathered around the fire. Today, for Uruguayans, their name stands for courage and grit.
Our food
That fire is where we come from. Our restaurants serve Uruguayan food: wood-ember grill, generous cuts of beef, empanadas, chivitos and milanesas. At La Casona we add the Mediterranean cooking of the place that welcomed us.
The family
We started with one restaurant and a small family. Today we are parents, children, grandchildren, cousins and a team that feels like family, running three restaurants the same way: good produce, the grill and a warm welcome.
